I just got this book today and LOVE it already. I read through the first couple of sections - great relatable writing style. I then flipped through the book and found steps to create my own sanctuary space, a detailed list of plants, some weeds in my garden I can eat, recipes for tea, a recipe for protein bombs, and other practices/rituals. This is exactly what I was hoping for — something to inspire more relaxation and awareness. The pictures are also lovely.

This is a beautiful, soul soothing book. A great reminder of the importance of self-care. Jessi Bloom is a treasure.

I was looking for some inspiration for my yard / garden. This book wonderfully invites you to re-connect with the earth and the plants, flowers, and tress that fill your landscape. Helpful and creative guidelines and ideas to get your creative mind going!

Really enjoying this book! This book has many inspiring ideas for a gardener who is looking for a deeper connection with the earth and offers many beautiful ideas to create a sacred space. The author has drawn inspiration from many different cultures and gives a brief explanation of ancient and modern concepts in regard to gardening. I absolutely love all of the beautiful photos that accompany the text and am excited to try out some of the ideas and concepts presented in this book.

Creating Sanctuary is a delightful book to read and to enjoy visually. I love the easy herbal medicinal recipes for teas, dream pillow, skin and hair care, as well as herbal medicinal recipes such as Ginger Compress. It's also a great resource for growing your own herbs and how to use common herbs. The book is beautiful and has thoughtful ideas for the body, mind and spirit.

Is gardening and well-being and health from plants my thing? Not really. Could I put this book down for a moment? Not at all! What a beautiful collection of tips, technique, educational ideas, research, well, I could go on and on. If there was a competition here it would be between the photographer and the author. One would be nothing without the other in this beautiful book. Just of late in a cookbook discussion I attend someone said that when choosing a book, photographs were as important as the recipes. I think this is equally true in Creating Sanctuary. There is so much helpful information in this book but for a novice like me, it would be hard to put it all together without the accompanying photos.So, I’ve said I loved the pictures and the info contained in the book but let me explain further how the layout and design make the reading flow. I think it is the layout of both information and photos that makes this book stay totally away from what could be a very academic, dry read. I’m not sure if the water areas or the flower gardens got my juices flowing or maybe it was just a really good author, but something did.This is one of those books that never becomes a coffee table book; it instead becomes one with tattered pages because you have cherished it.
