Very readable for the beginner. Educating myself on genomics, Snyder's book raised as many questions in my mind as it answered. This is exactly what I'm after. I'm now looking for a genes dictionary/encyclopedia (perhaps online) that relates known genes (when abnormal) to known diseases. Any suggestions?I'd also like to get an understanding of how to interpret the gene scores we see in crime shows. Again, any suggestions? Altogether, very worthwhile.
very easy to understand overview of current state of art. some chapters need some background in the field to understand and appreciate.
This book was very interesting. Genomics isn't my field, but I feel like I learned a lot reading this. It's quick. Mostly conceptual, which seems to be challenging with such a deep, technical field. Glad I picked this up.
- clear and concise- broad and comprehensive- excellent introduction to cancer immunotherapy- some of the downsides and limitations of genomics (and omits generally) were perhaps not adequately covered
I've read this book twice now. Highly recommend it for anyone starting a career in biotech.
