The DK Travel books are ALWAYS SO GOOD...they are one of the best, if not the best, travel guide on the market. They have museum-quality graphic color-plates, great descriptions, and are a visual pleasure in every way. They are a pleasure to read just for armchair travel, and the best souvenir for any trip. I have several of these guides, some from places I have visited, and some on my wish-list, and this guide did not disappoint. Highly recommended!
Like all DK travel books, it is beautifully illustrated. I bought this book for strip to Stockholm in August 2013. This is an updated and revised book. Much of the content has not been updated rendering the book almost useless in many cases. The book was written by someone who wishes to promote tourism in Stockholm. Hence, much of the content is biased to the point of , in some cases, of being skewed.Finding a decent travel book for Stockholm is not easy. This is pretty book but beware of the recommendations and suggestions as they are outdated in many cases.
This compact and colorful work holds up the standard of excellence of the general Eyewitness series. It gives neighborhoods and sites to visit, detailed city maps for navigating on foot and by public transport plus a portable map for general wandering in a new place. It was taken and used July 2013 on a business trip to Stockholm with a weekend day for exploration. The series is limited on hotel and restaurant recommends but most offer nicely detailed suggested walks.
This travel guide services the reader very well. Its incredibly well illustrated, with many diagrammatic type pictures and supplementary map.It is a great resource for travel to Stockholm.
Love the pictures ... very helpful for figuring out what to see in Stockholm and how to navigate (hint: the royal palace is expensive and worth skipping).
These books are great, unfortunately, they are also quite heavy. Being that you have only 50 pounds in checked luggage, I couldn't devote almost 2 of the them to this. The kindle version isn't bad, but not as good as this one.
Good book but a little dated and could use an update to make it more useful to the reader. OK
I liked it... very graphical... useful for a short stay. Not to many data as the Michellin guides but many more pictures.
